  • Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of new processes and tools 
  • Provide advice, analysis and support to the Privacy Programme to deliver an uplift in privacy management capability 
  • Manage BaU event reporting and support the delivery of Privacy Impact Assessments
  • Fixed term contract until end June 2019

 

We are looking for an experienced Advisor with the ability to work across the organisation, on the Ministry's privacy programme. The role includes working with staff to design and develop policies, procedures and process for privacy at MBIE that are fit for purpose; clear; accessible and useable. You will need the ability to engage across MBIE at all levels and work to set a minimum standard for privacy at MBIE based on best practice and the needs of MBIE's business Groups, managers and staff.

 

The Privacy Programme is a Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) wide initiative to set a minimum standard for privacy at MBIE, consistent with the organisation's obligations under the Privacy Act 1993 and the Government Chief Privacy Officers expectations. This will improve MBIE's privacy awareness and capability and move MBIE towards a whole of organisation approach to privacy.

 

This is a fixed term opportunity as the result of the approval for continuation of the Privacy Programme for the 2018/2019 year. The programme will set a strong foundation for privacy and personal information management at MBIE.

 

Skills and experience required:

 

The Advisor - Privacy Programme will have:

 

  • Strong analytical skills
  • An ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with a wide range of people at all levels, both internal and external to MBIE
  • Experience in reviewing and implementing processes to enhance business improvement and service delivery
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Work proactively, with little direct management
  • Demonstrated high levels of integrity and flexibility 
  • Experience of working on a Project 
  • Microsoft office skills, including Visio
  • Flexibility to adapt within a fast moving environment
  • Must have legal right to live and work in NZ
