We have a unique opportunity for an individual to utilise analytical and relationship skills as well as offering project coordination experience for the benefit of helping to improve health sector performance. 


Service Commissioning is the single point of contact and accountability for relationships between the Ministry and system organisations.  We lead the design, development and implementation of services; we negotiate contracts with providers and directly commission services; and we safeguard the system to ensure outcomes are delivered in an equitable and sustainable manner.


The position in the Accountability Team contributes to providing high quality, timely support within the Operational Excellence Group, to the business unit and Ministry and last but not least, the DHB sector.  The role deals with DHB accountability matters including Planning and Performance and development and maintenance of the Nationwide Service Frameworks.  


The role also provides the opportunity to use critical thinking skills to:

  • apply analytical and basic project coordination skills
  • organising and coordinating the preparation and review of relevant accountability documentation
  • be a major contributor to the quarterly DHB reporting process  and ensuring relevant milestones are  achieved on time
  • work with a number of databases and have prime responsibility for maintaining the library website supporting the Nationwide Service Framework.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • proven ability to work collegially within a team, be highly organised and  manage relationships
  • good computer literacy
  • excellent written and oral communication skills with an eye for detail, and
  • ability to learn quickly, and be able to carry out duties with minimal supervision.
