Job Description

Are you an individual who enables others and has a strong working knowledge of the NZ health sector?

 

The Manager Long Term Conditions, Palliative Care and Acute Demand will see you working with a committed and knowledgeable team; taking leadership of the team's work programme and being accountable for high quality outputs. Key to the success of this position will be your exceptional ability at building and managing key relationships including the Ministry, and wider health sector.

 

Specific focus of the role will see you being responsible for leading the implementation of Government priorities and policies to improve the outcomes of people receiving services for long term conditions, palliative care and acute demand. You will provide leadership to the strategic direction of the work programme as well as effective management of a range of initiatives that improve outcomes for people accessing these health services. As the Manager, you will work with a range of clinical advisors seconded from their clinical practice and ensure that teams work side by side to design and deliver services that are integrated around the needs of clients.

 

To be considered for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge and experience of working within the NZ health sector
  • The ability to lead teams to develop both high quality strategic, operational and tactical advice
  • Experience in managing and enabling a team, including working with clinicians and health consumers
  • Ability to prioritise, lead, manage and deliver complex programmes from planning to completion
  • Political nous in order to achieve results
  • Demonstrable relationship management skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnership
  • Demonstrable experience at building constructive and effective relationships.
