We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join the Chronic Disease Prevention Team as a Portfolio Manager, with a specific focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health.  The position involves contract management, policy development and interagency work over a range of issues including HIV and STI prevention, sexuality education, contraceptive access; and populations including young people, LGBTI, Maori, Pacific, and women.

  

We are looking for a highly analytical individual who has a sharp intellect, is a succinct writer, able to translate ideas into action, and establish relationships with DHB, primary care and sexual and reproductive health sector leaders.

  

Our team is part of the System Outcomes Group in the Service Commissioning Business Unit.  Our team is responsible for commissioning services that prevent chronic diseases in the areas of tobacco, nutrition and physical activity, alcohol and drugs and sexual health.  

  

As the Portfolio Manager, Sexual and Reproductive Health you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of a new priority which is aimed at increasing access to free and/or low cost contraception to women; and supporting the implementation of the Ministry of Health's Sexual and Reproductive Health Action Plan.

  

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience managing and maintaining constructive collaborative formal relationships with local and/or national agencies,  

  • Policy, funding or contract management experience

  • Proven ability to write formal documents with clarity speed and accuracy

  • Interest and understanding of key sexual and reproductive health issues and challenges and their impact on populations s and health providers

  • Demonstrated project management experience in achieving results in a timely manner

  • Sharp intellect and  understanding a public health systems change framework are capable of deep thought

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
