Job Description

We are seeking a high energy and diligent Advisor to join our team in the Office of the Director General of Health. 


The Office of the Director General provides support for the Director General of Health and has responsibility for the effective and efficient management of communications and government services. 

The team's core roles are in the preparation and delivery of high quality services focused on OIAs, Ministerials, Parliamentary Questions, and Briefings, as well as appointments and monitoring of governance effectiveness of 42 non DHB Crown entities. 


The aim of our team is enhancing the delivery of our services through consistently driving and demonstrating the Spirit of Service in process improvement, productivity enhancement, internal and external customer service.

As a member of the Office of the Director General Team, you will have the opportunity to influence process design, contribute to continuous improvement, and to contribute to the training and development of staff from across the Ministry.


The successful applicant is likely to have the following:

  • excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage their own workload
  • an ability to provide credible and evidence based advice to a wide range of audiences
  • an ability to be able to learn new things and to quickly understand complex situations.


The successful applicant will have exceptional written and oral communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work within a team.
