Job Description

The Ministry of Health is looking for Senior Policy Analysts to join the Strategy & Policy group in delivering quality policy advice!

Successful candidates will bring their natural curiosity, drive for results and knowledge of policy development to help us question the status quo, assess risk and deliver better health outcomes for New Zealanders. They will have an ability to work flexibly, and pick up new things quickly and in return will have opportunity to work on a variety of health policy issues. This may include designing regulatory frameworks for drinking water or medicines. Or identifying the best institutional and performance framework to deliver better results on organ donation or maternity care. Or collaborating across government to consider the health contribution to promoting child wellbeing or preventing individuals from becoming involved with the criminal justice system.

Across all of the work there will be a strong focus on achieving equitable health outcomes and a drive to delivering better outcomes for Māori is a must.  A background in health, regulatory policy, or achieving responsiveness to Māori would be an advantage for the roles.

To apply for this position please provide your current Curriculum Vitae and a covering letter outlining your background and your interest in the role. All applications must be made online.  All applicants must have the right to live and work in New Zealand for the application to be considered.

For further information on this position please contact Senior Recruitment Advisor, Sarah Perry on 04 816 3332.  A full position description can be found on careers.health.govt.nz
