Vacancies on Health Responsible Authority – Medical Radiation Technologists Board


The health responsible authorities are established under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 (HPCA Act).Their purpose is to protect the health and safety of members of the public by providing for mechanisms to ensure that health practitioners are fit and competent to practise their professions. The Minister appoints a variety of people to responsible authorities.


On behalf of Hon Dr David Clark, Minister of Health, we are currently seeking applications/nominations for the following positions:


  • Two health practitioner members (one Nuclear Medicine Technologist and one Radiation Therapist)

  • One layperson member


Please note that any applicants for a health practitioner member position must be registered in New Zealand; and applicants for a lay member position must not be, or be qualified to be, a health practitioner.

To nominate someone, or apply yourself, the following are required:

  • a declaration form for the relevant position, completed by you/the nominee (attached)

  • a covering letter, detailing your/the nominee's experience that is relevant to the Medical Radiation Technologists Board and why the position is of interest to you/them

  • a current CV.
