(Palmerston North/ Otaki/ Levin/ Dannevirke/ Feilding based fixed terms until June 2020)

We are implementing a prototype of a transformed disability support system in MidCentral DHB area from 1 October 2018. The aim of the prototype is to provide disabled people and whānau with more options and greater decision making over their support and their lives.

We are looking for a diverse team of Connectors to work with disabled people and whānau in the MidCentral region. The Connector is a critical role in the transformed system.


In this role, you will walk alongside disabled people and whānau to assist  them  think about what they want in their life, what support they need to get there and how to put this in place.


Successful candidates will:

  • be able to build and maintain trusting relationships with a diverse range of disabled people and whānau

  • be able to describe the Enabling Good Lives vision and principles and how they apply these in their practice

  • be committed to implementing a Disability Rights approach

  • have a good understanding of Human Rights and the Treaty of Waitangi

  • have extensive networks and understanding of what is available in their community


This position is a fixed term role until June 2020 and could be a secondment from the public sector.
