Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Oracle Database Administrator with an interest in Data Warehousing to join our team.  As a technical leader you will be responsible for the day to day support of the Ministry Oracle environment, including mentoring and training less experienced DBA team members and liaising with clients and vendors.

Technically you will understand Oracle DBMS Design and Configuration and physical database structure design and configuration management.  Capacity planning and recommendations for hardware and system software configuration in conjunction with network and hardware engineers along with design and optimisation of databases, queries, programs and DBMS-related maintenance and monitoring scripts will be essential to this role. Your current and relevant experience in both transactional and data warehouse and reporting environments will provide the background needed to work with and meet business requirements.

Strong relationship skills and experience working with clients and vendors with a service focus is key to this position. Working as part of a small team you will be responsible for day to day database administration tasks including change, problem, and incident management.

This position is permanent and full time, located in Wellington.
