We're looking for an experienced organisational development specialist who can lead the implementation of the Ministry's new Leadership Framework!

About the role

The Organisational Development Team has an exciting few years ahead where we will be designing, developing and implementing a wide range of new organisational development initiatives that will make a real impact on the Ministry's culture, leadership, capability and people experience.

We're looking for a Senior OD Consultant who can bring their creativity, strong stakeholder engagement and OD expertise to a role that will focus on:

  • Designing and implementing new leadership development programmes

  • Procuring and implementing leadership psychometric tools

  • Developing and implementing a new approach to talent management

  • Providing sound OD advice and facilitation support to Ministry managers

  • Leading or supporting broader OD initiatives that build the Ministry's leadership, culture and capability.

How you'll be successful

As an experienced OD professional, you'll know that what makes you successful is your ability to walk the talk of the Ministry's desired culture and behaviours.  You'll have a positive attitude, be naturally collaborative in the way you work and be willing to roll your sleeves up and support the wider team when they need it.

Technically, you'll bring:

  • Solid experience leading strategic OD projects from conception through to design, implementation and review, including experience in leadership development and talent management.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at one time.

  • Experience managing external vendor contracts and relationships.

  • Experience using human-centred design, or other co-design methods that enable you to design OD initiatives with and for our people.

  • The ability to analyse and interpret a wide range of external research and internal data and use this to inform the development of new OD initiatives.

  • A tertiary qualification in human resources, organisational psychology or organisational development – or equivalent experience.
