Primary Care Team, Community and Ambulance, Health System Improvement, Health System Improvement and Innovation

Permanent fulltime, Wellington based

A strong primary health care system is central to improving the health of all New Zealanders and reducing health inequalities between different population groups. Our primary health care system needs to: support people to live well, stay well and get well; ensure people understand and are able to access the care they need; provide care closer to where people live and work and; keep people at the centre of decision-making.

We have an opportunity for someone looking for a new challenge, to work as a Programme Administrator with the Primary Care team. This is a fulltime permanent role based in Wellington. The role is an ideal opportunity for you if you are wanting to work with a busy team: share or advance your understanding of the primary care health system; be part of a busy collaborative team; and make a strong contribution to a key health priority.

It would be an advantage if you:

  • have strong organisational and administrative skills
  • communicate well both orally and in written form
  • engage well with internal and external stakeholders
  • can demonstrate an ability to work both independently and as part of a team with a flexible, ‘can do' attitude.


You will also ideally have experience in working in central government.
