The Sector Digital Portfolio Team is a small but expanding team that engages across the motu to support digital strategy and investment activities, alongside other key functions. It is part of the Data and Digital Directorate which supports the health system to deliver better services and health outcomes, and provides an opportunity to join health in an exciting period of change.

Hauora Aotearoa | Health New Zealand (HNZ) has been created to achieve a vision of Pae Ora, healthy futures for all New Zealanders. The new system will be established around the priority outcomes of partnership, equity, sustainability, person- and whānau-centred care, and excellence. 

The formation of HealthNZ is a bold and courageous step in the journey to transform the way that health services are delivered in Aotearoa. HealthNZ will manage the health system day to day and will plan and commission health services for the whole population – with responsibility for improving service delivery and outcomes at all levels. 

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity  

The Portfolio Coordinator role will support the portfolio management activities required for the operation of the integrated investment portfolio. These activities are designed to ensure good decision making by a range of governance forums is supported, that there is coordination of delivery oversight and a high standard of stakeholder engagement. 

As a key member of the portfolio team and the operation of the portfolio function, this role spans a range of activities including governance support, organisation of portfolio processes and records, and important operational activities such as financial tracking.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills 

• Tertiary qualification in relevant field or relevant experience
• Previous experience working in data and digital coordination role
• Experience working in a portfolio structure in large scale, complex environments
• Sound knowledge of portfolio or programme management principles
• Outstanding time management, organisational skills and the ability to multitask under pressure.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Advanced MS Office skills, including MS Teams
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a wide range of people
• Excellent analytical skills and information seeking abilities
