Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
As a valued member of the System Performance directorate | Te Pou Mahi Pūnaha leadership team, you'll play a vital part in achieving its purpose to monitor and advise on health and disability system planning, funding and performance. The directorate's functional role includes leading policy advice on the mental health and addiction system, setting the strategic direction for the sector, and provision of comprehensive monitoring and insights to improve performance and increase equity of outcomes.
You will build on your established reputation and extensive experience from within the health sector or key areas relevant to health system performanceto set an example as a high-profile system leader, an expert convenor and a trusted advisor to Ministers and other key decision-makers. The skills you apply to manage relationships and problem-solving acumen will drive momentum towards improved performance and equity of outcomes across the health sector, as part of the broader government system.
Responsible for building collaborative, collective cross-system efforts, trust and alignment around purpose and priorities, you will instigate and lead solutions to address critical Crown entity and system performance issues. A particular focus will be establishing effective working relationships with Crown entities in the health sector, including the new entities, Te Whatu Ora and Te Akai Whai Ora. While focused at the broad system level, you will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships within two regions with specific themes to be determined by the Deputy Director-General.
