The System Performance directorate | Te Pou Mahi Pūnaha directorate is responsible for monitoring health and disability system planning, funding and performance. Our functional role includes leading policy advice on the mental health and addiction system, setting the strategic direction for the sector, and provision of comprehensive monitoring and insights to improve performance.
Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
Leading and developing the people in your team will be at the heart of your role. Together you will design and deliver monitoring and assurance methodologies that provide a clear view of Crown entities and the health system from a clinical quality and safety perspective.
Working in close alignment with the Ministry's Clinical Leads, your insights will enable you to support the Group Manager System Elements so that the clinical, quality and safety elements of the health system are well-managed, adaptable and sustainable over time.
Your adept relationship management skills will drive momentum towards improved performance and equity outcomes across the health sector while supporting sector entities to increase the power of their insights and capability. Stakeholders will see you as a positive and collaborative leader with proven abilities to produce results, particularly key new entities, Te Whatu Ora and Te Akai Whai Ora.
Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field and / or equivalent experience
- A successful track record as a practitioner in clinical, quality and or safety management in the health sector
- A successful track record in people leadership and an appetite for leading through change
- A solid grasp of machinery of government, risk management and a track record as trusted advisor to Ministers
- Strong strategic and system-wide thinking skills, questioning and influencing skills
