Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
The Office of the Deputy Director-General Māori Health supports Te Pau Hauora Māori / Māori Health Directorate to be the principal policy advisor to government for Māori health matters. Te Pou Hauora Māori leads the Ministry's kaitiaki/stewardship role to ensure the Ministry is meeting its obligations to Māori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
In this role you will contribute to the planning and implementation of the Directorate's work programme. Particularly helping the Directorate to plan and commission work from external suppliers and manage its transparency responsibilities to government and the community.

- Proven strategic leadership skills that support project design, development, and implementation
- Previous experience working in central government and a thorough understanding of the machinery of Government
- A deep understanding and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations
- Ability to work in complex environments and with a wide range of diverse stakeholders that are internal and external to the Ministry
- Political savviness and risk management, knowing what is important to key stakeholders.
