Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
The Financial Controller is responsible for the integrity of the Ministry's financial information and is accountable for leading the Financial Accounting team to deliver timely, complete and accurate financial information/data to the Ministry and key external stakeholders.
The Financial Controller is accountable for managing the day-to-day accounting processes, ensuring compliance and that the right controls are in place that underpin the financial reporting whilst leading, mentoring and supporting the financial accounting team.

- A recognised tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
- Experience managing Treasury Crown financial reporting processes from day-to-day transactions to monthly and annual financial reporting requirements
- You will be an excellent relationship builder, who has a collaborative way of working both across the Ministry and with external stakeholders
- Continuous improvement is a focus of yours and you will be able to demonstrate this capability across business processes and team cultures
- You will also be skilled in identifying risks, and implementing appropriate internal control mechanisms, financial policies and procedures to mitigate risk
