Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
The Government & Executive Services directorate provides support and services for the Ministers and Executive Governance Team to enable effective governance, brand and reputation of the organisation.
The Office of the Deputy Director-General sits within the directorate and provides strategic business advice and leads work programmes and activities, assisting in decision making and business management for the directorate.
The Principal Advisor, ODDG provides quality advice to the Deputy Direct-General and leads business work programmes and activities to help the smooth running of the directorate. This includes support and advice for the governance system and committees and to assist in decision making and business management for the Directorate. They will help support GES SLT to maintain and improve the delivery of quality written advice and work programmes.

- Proven thought leadership & senior strategy development expertise
- Experience in a governance setting that supports governance best practice
- Experience in applying critical thinking, working strategically, and lifting quality, whether it relates to process or the content of products
- Proven ability to write and talk about complex issues clearly and concisely to a range of audiences
- Previous experience working in central government and a thorough understanding of the machinery of Government
- Political savviness and risk management, knowing what is important to key stakeholders
- Strong relationship management skills and experience in engaging with a range of sector groups and agencies
