Senior Advisor/Advisor (Fixed Term), Ministry of Justice, Provider and Community Services, Commissioning and Service Improvement

We have opportunities available for Senior Advisors who can provide support across Provider and Community Services by applying advanced skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • procurement and contract management
  • data analysis and reporting
  • relationship management
  • project management
  • operational policy review and machinery of government
  • written and verbal communication, and quality assurance
  • official and ministerial correspondence
  • complaints resolution
  • quality assurance with a legal focus.

We are interested in hearing from Senior Advisors experienced in providing trusted advice, leading significant pieces of work, applying a project management approach, forming and maintaining positive relationships, continuous improvement, writing well and have a sound grasp of the machinery of government.

We also have opportunities for Advisors who are seeking to enhance their current experience and either have, or are seeking to develop, the following skills:

  • relationship management
  • procurement of services and ongoing contract management
  • data analysis and reporting
  • good written and verbal skills including the ability to prepare and review official and ministerial correspondence
  • an understanding of the machinery of government
  • an understanding of the social service or justice sector
  • a structured and organised approach to work.

For all of these positions you will work in a team environment to procure services from third parties, or you will support or oversee those parties in the delivery of social and justice services including: non-violence and safety programmes, restorative justice, victims' services, family dispute resolution, community legal services and legal aid services.

We are committed to the continuous improvement of our strategic planning and contracting processes.  You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other agencies, external stakeholders and a range of people in the Ministry of Justice.  You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, in addition to your ability to understand and interpret data to ensure value for money and that the right services are in place for our clients.  You'll contribute to a full and exciting work programme and have the opportunity to undertake work for Ministers.

Please note that one of the Senior Advisor positions is a fixed term position of at least 6 months to backfill a parental leave. Let us know if you are interested in this option.

Senior Advisor salary $74,779 - $101,171

Advisor salary $63,731 - $86,224
