Executive Support – Part time 20 hours Auckland

We are looking for an experienced Executive Support to join our team in our central Auckland office.  We are a collegial and professional office with around 38 legal and support staff.  You will be providing high level administrative and secretarial support primarily to the Auckland Public Defender. You will be joining an experienced and supportive team who have a genuine interest in sharing knowledge and supporting one-another in an enjoyable, busy and sometimes challenging environment.  The Public Defence Service (PDS) is New Zealand's largest criminal law practice, providing high quality legal advice and representation in a full range of criminal cases. Aimed at helping people access justice, the PDS promotes the values of respect, integrity, service and the delivery of excellent service to its clients.  To be successful in this role you will need to have:

• Proven experience working at the executive support level

• excellent verbal written and communication skills

• strong disposition for problem solving and taking responsibility

• be a self-starter with proven initiative

• be a team player

• keen to learn about the world of criminal defence law

You will contribute directly to the effectiveness of both the Auckland office and the PDS by supporting efficient management of activities, including dealing with matters of a highly confidential and sensitive nature.  A key success factor will be your ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and communicate on different levels with a wide range of people both within and outside the Ministry. 

Salary will depend on skills and experience and commences at $47,452 (85% of band)
