Te āhuatunga a te tūranga/About the Role
We are looking for Criminal Defence lawyers with a minimum of PAL2 and Duty Lawyer listings, who have a strong desire to develop their career in the specialist area of criminal advocacy.
We are based in Tauranga, close to the Tauranga District court as well as the higher courts. We are a team of around 12 legal and support staff and we enjoy camaraderie and support in our busy and challenging environment.

- Have strong advocacy skills
- Enjoy carrying a caseload, as well as mentoring and assisting more junior lawyers
- have the ability to build credibility with judges, peers, and others in the legal community

- have empathy and the ability to relate to a wide range of people

PAL2 — The appointing salary for this role will be between $80,473 and $105,089 (85% - 111% of band) based on skills and experience.
PAL3 — The appointing salary for this role will be between $105,545 and $137,829 (85% - 111% of band) based on skills and experience.
