Senior Business Analyst

It is an exciting time to join the Digital team here at the Ministry. Our newly established operating model is truly customer centric and service-based, driven by the need for continuous improvement and maintenance throughout the service lifecycle.
The Strategic Business Partner function has been introduced to act as the conduit between Digital and other parts of the Ministry at a senior stakeholder level. Business Partners will work within their portfolio to understand Ministry stakeholders' business strategies, needs and priorities.
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst superstar to work alongside the team. This will not be your usual technology BA job. This role will be all about facilitation, creating collaborative environments, clear communication of business needs and opportunities up to concept stage, assisting others to make prioritisation decisions and articulating business value.

Your work will include, but won't be limited to:
- Facilitation of conversations and outcome focussed decision making between Digital and business stakeholders
- Gathering early high-level requirements
- Business Case writing
- Helping us in establishing our team toolkit.
You will have the opportunity to shape a new function for the Ministry in a positive and supportive environment.
He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- A tertiary degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Relevant certifications
- Variety of requirements elicitation and analysis techniques
- Understanding of service design techniques
- workshop facilitation
- Excellent communication skills
- Effective relationship management including leading business value conversations, influencing stakeholders at all levels and
- Business Case writing
- Benefit realisation planning and tracking
- A bias towards critical and big picture thinking and collaboration
- Delivery of digital solutions using a range of project lifecycle methodologies
A sound understanding of the machinery of government and experience in Te Reo Māori would be advantageous.

Salary Range:
The appointing salary for this role will be between $91,130 and $128,654 based on skills and experience.
