Library Assistant
A vacancy has arisen within Judicial Libraries/He puna mātauranga ture. The Library Assistant position is a full-time permanent position and is based at the Justice Centre in Wellington where you will be part of the Resource Development/Poutiaki o te ara rauemi ture team.
Te āhuatunga a te tūranga/About the Role
Library assistants provide direct support to Judicial Libraries staff delivering efficient and cost-effective library and information services to the judiciary and the Ministry.
The focus of this role is on the timely processing of library acquisitions and general administrative support for Judicial Libraries staff in the Justice Centre, though there will be opportunities to assist court librarians and work on electronic resources/databases as required.
Primary tasks include:
- Filing and general library administration
- Processing orders and acquisitions and distributing materials to courts
- Updating material on the intranet
- Database maintenance

It will be important for you to demonstrate:
- an excellent service ethic
- an eye for detail
- proven resilience in a changing environment
- an ability to work with a wide range of clients, including the Judiciary and Ministry staff
Previous experience in libraries, the law, or with administrative tasks is desirable.
