Te Haeata/The Opportunity
A Pae Tukutuku is critical to the successful daily operation of the Māori Land Court and makes a huge positive difference in the lives of tangata whenua.
This position sits within the Taitokerau District (Whāngarei), where we are involved with processing applications related to Māori Land and general land owned by Māori. The main part of the Pae Tukutuku role is to ensure the delivery of quality information and customer service relating to the timely progression of applications and cases.
You may be required to assist in the facilitation of our dispute resolution process, draft submissions, and reports from the Court's records, and conduct whakapapa research to determine ownership details.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have experience in customer service, both in front line and written capacities
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, you will be able to act with tact and discretion.
- Have a can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
- Have strong standard of written and oral communication
- Enjoy working in a reactive as well as a proactive environment
- Have an understanding and appreciation of cultural practises and challenges, related to Tikanga Māori
- Be able to work autonomously and collaboratively
- Have solid computer skills
- Have strong research abilities

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The remuneration band for this role is $58,729 to $80,794 – while the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience, we are willing to pay higher in the band to attract strong candidates into this role.
