Welcome to the Protective Security, Strategy & Planning team. This is an exciting time for us as we look to embed our new operating and service delivery model!
The Protective Security, Strategy & Planning Team coordinates and supports Te Tāhū o te Ture to promote a positive security culture. We're looking for a Security Consultant to support the Manager Protective Security, Strategy & Planning and team in the delivery of the Ministry's protective security uplift plan.
The Security Consultant will support team members in promoting the adoption and implementation of security policy, practices and standards. They will work with our customers and stakeholders to provide solutions to mitigate business risk while lifting security culture.
The Consultant will support team members in the design and assessment of fit-for-purpose security plans across the broad range of risks associated with the PSR Framework.
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
To be successful, we're looking for Advisory or Consultancy experience in large and complex organisations, including:
- Good problem-solving capability.
- Knowledge of Protective Security requirements.
- The ability to build and sustain a range of strong relationships.
- Sound written communication skills.
Ideally, you may also have:
- Knowledge of court and judicial security protocols.
- An understanding of the constitutional principles and legal processes that underpin the New Zealand justice system.
- Experience in conducting security assessments or audits.
You must also have the ability to undertake frequent travel across Aotearoa New Zealand and obtain and maintain an NZSIS Top Secret clearance.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $72,634 and $93,591 based on skills and experience.
