Te Haeata/The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Position Management Lead to drive the design, development, and implementation of a Ministry-wide position establishment and management framework, ensuring integration with workforce planning and financial constraints.
You will develop, document and implement establishment cap management policies, ensuring accurate workforce tracking and alignment with affordability constraints.
As the subject matter expert on position establishment and management, you will engage with a broad range of stakeholders to gather information and influence. You will collaborate with Finance and People Experience teams to integrate budgeting and establishment considerations into your framework design.
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
This is a time-bound piece of work, so we need someone with proven understanding of position management, HRIS systems and experience designing models for workforce and budget management.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- demonstrable experience designing accurate tracking and reporting for position establishment and financial oversight.
- proven experience defining and improving processes and workflows, including process mapping.
- extensive experience within the public sector HR, finance, workforce planning, or systems implementation, including an understanding of public sector workforce guidelines, funding models, and reporting obligations.
- intermediate to advanced understanding of government budgeting, funding models, and reporting structures.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $98,208 and $135,539 based on skills and experience.
