Leasing Coordinator at NZ Ministry of Justice, Wellington City

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Leasing Coordinator to support the Ministry property needs and requirements across our leased building portfolio.

In this role, you will: 

  • coordinate lease management activities, including renewals, rent reviews, and lease negotiations, ensuring compliance with Ministry policies and relevant legislation
  • maintain strong relationships with external landlords, tenants, and property managers, ensuring leases are administered efficiently and any issues are resolved promptly
  • prepare and maintain accurate records and reports on lease arrangements, upcoming milestones, and financial obligations
  • collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including judiciary and other Ministry teams, to ensure alignment with operational objectives
  • provide administrative support to the team as directed.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • proven experience in administration or property management, within the public sector or a large multi-site organisation
  • outstanding time management, planning and organisational skills
  • knowledge or experience in contract management, preferably in leasing, property management, or real estate
  • outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
  • knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements
  • an understanding and appreciation of cultural issues and concerns in particular Tikanga Maori.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $59,729 and $80,794 based on skills and experience.
