We are looking for a compassionate, organised and resilient person to join our Auckland team as a Coronial Services Case Manager.
This is a challenging and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will provide high-level case management support to coroners while working with grieving families and a wide range of stakeholders in sensitive circumstances.
The role offers meaningful public service work within a supportive team environment and the opportunity to make a genuine difference to New Zealanders during difficult times.
Key responsibilities include:
- coordinating and managing coronial cases from referral through to completion
- gathering, organising and presenting inquiry information and reports to coroners in a clear and concise manner
- managing large volumes of electronic and physical case files
- maintaining accurate and up-to-date records within our case management systems
- liaising with families, Police, government agencies, medical professionals and other interested parties
- arranging and supporting coroners during preliminary hearings and inquests
- building and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- natural empathy and professionalism when working with people and families
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
- experience in case management, administration or other similar work environments
- excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills
- confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
- the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- a flexible, practical and positive approach to work
- an interest in the work of Coronial Services and the wider justice sector
This is a challenging role that will allow you to utilise your empathy, case management experience, people and relationship management skills to a high level and be part of the team that provides New Zealanders with a first-class coronial service.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The remuneration band for this role is $67,066 to $90,008 – the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
