Help tell the story of one of New Zealand's largest public sector transformation programmes

Te Au Reka is transforming how people access justice in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We're delivering a modern digital case management system that will make court and tribunal services simpler, faster, and more accessible for the people who use them. It is one of the most significant transformation programmes in New Zealand's public sector and will shape the future of justice services for decades to come.

We're looking for an experienced communications professional to help us engage, inform and inspire a wide range of audiences as this exciting work continues.

 

Te Haeata/The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled communications advisor who enjoys turning complex information into engaging and accessible content.

You'll work across a high-profile programme, helping to communicate key milestones, achievements, upcoming changes and opportunities. You'll partner with leaders, subject matter experts and stakeholders to create compelling communications that build understanding, engagement and confidence in Te Au Reka.

This role offers variety, visibility and the chance to contribute to work that has real impact for New Zealanders.

What you'll be doing

Communications planning and delivery

• Develop and deliver communications plans and activities that support programme priorities
• Create engaging content across a range of communication channels and formats
• Identify opportunities to raise awareness and celebrate programme achievements
• Implement communications that support programme objectives and stakeholder engagement

Content creation and storytelling

• Translate complex information into clear, engaging and audience-focused communications
• Develop articles, newsletters, intranet content, presentations and leadership messaging
• Create compelling stories that bring programme successes, progress and benefits to life
• Ensure content is consistent, accurate and accessible

Stakeholder engagement and advice

• Build strong working relationships with programme teams, leaders and stakeholders
• Provide communications advice and support to managers and subject matter experts
• Help leaders communicate confidently and effectively with their audiences
• Work collaboratively across a diverse and dynamic programme environment

Communications excellence

• Maintain a consistent voice and approach across communications activities
• Monitor audience feedback and identify opportunities to improve communications
• Contribute fresh ideas and innovative approaches to audience engagement
• Support continuous improvement of communication practices and channels

 

Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who is passionate about great communication and enjoys working in complex, fast-paced environments.

You'll have:

• Experience in communications, engagement, marketing communications, public relations or a related field
• Strong writing, editing and content development skills
• The ability to simplify complex information and create engaging communications
• Experience working with a variety of stakeholders and building productive relationships
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Sound judgement and attention to detail
• A collaborative approach and a willingness to get stuck in

We'd also love to hear from candidates with experience in:

• Programme or project communications
• Internal communications
• Digital communications and content channels
• Government or public sector environments

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The salary range for this role is $97,208 – $135,539, with the starting salary based on skills and experience.
