Te Haeata/The Opportunity

As a Test Lead, you will be responsible for the ongoing implementation of the testing strategy for Te Au Reka. You will define and lead the overall testing approach, ensuring testing activities are aligned with programme objectives and delivered to a high standard.

Leading a small team of Test Analysts and Test Engineers, you will provide direction, guidance, and support to ensure testing activities are effectively planned, coordinated, and executed across the programme. Working closely with stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams, you will drive collaboration, manage testing risks and promote continuous improvement to ensure the successful delivery of quality digital products and services.

In this role, you will:

  • Define and implement testing strategies, plans, and approaches that support successful programme delivery
  • Lead and develop a team of Test Analysts and Test Engineers, fostering a high-performing and collaborative testing culture
  • Establish testing governance, manage risks and issues, and ensure testing activities align with best practices and quality standards
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams, providing clear communication on testing progress, outcomes, and risks

 

Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Proven experience leading testing functions within large and complex organisations, with responsibility for testing strategy, planning, and delivery across multiple workstreams
  • Strong experience working with stakeholders to develop and deliver acceptance testing, particularly within Agile delivery environments
  • Experience leading testing for interoperability initiatives and complex API integrations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing testing teams while fostering a collaborative and positive team culture
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across a wide range of business and technical groups
  • Experience using testing and delivery tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, or equivalent experience, supported by a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Relevant industry, technical, and/or professional certifications

Desirable:

  • Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert certification
  • An understanding of the constitutional principles and legal processes that underpin New Zealand's justice system
  • Knowledge of All-of-Government ICT principles, practices, and service offerings, and an understanding of the machinery of government

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The salary range for this role is between $105,226 and $144,034, based on skills and experience.
