Recruitment Advisor at NZ Ministry of Justice, Wellington City
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
What sits behind great hiring decisions?
It's not just the candidate. It's also the quality of the advice, expertise and support that helps leaders attract, assess and select the right person.
That's where you come in.
Te Haeata/The Opportunity
As a Recruitment Advisor at Te Tāhū o te Ture | Ministry of Justice, you'll partner with leaders across the Ministry to attract, identify and secure talented people who can make a meaningful difference.
You'll provide practical advice, coaching and support to hiring managers, helping them navigate recruitment processes with confidence while ensuring a positive experience for candidates at every stage.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. One day you might be working alongside senior leaders to develop sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill roles, while the next you could be coaching a new manager through a recruitment process, supporting selection activity, or identifying ways to improve how we recruit.
You'll join a team that is passionate about delivering high-quality recruitment services, building manager capability and continually improving the recruitment experience for everyone involved.
He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you'll be a trusted advisor who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and helping managers achieve great recruitment outcomes. You'll thrive in a busy environment, be comfortable juggling multiple priorities, and bring a proactive approach to progressing recruitment activity from attraction through to appointment.
You'll combine strong recruitment expertise with sound judgement, reporting and analytical capability, and the ability to operate effectively within a complex public sector environment. Most importantly, you'll be committed to providing practical advice, excellent service, and a positive experience for candidates and hiring managers alike.
You'll bring:
- Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or a related advisory role.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment processes, sourcing strategies and selection methodologies.
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume workload and competing priorities.
- Confidence building relationships and influencing outcomes with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using recruitment systems, technology and reporting tools.
- Sound analytical skills and the ability to interpret and communicate recruitment data.
- An understanding of, or ability to quickly develop, knowledge of the public sector environment.
- A commitment to equitable recruitment practices and delivering excellent customer service.
