Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

Advisor Outcomes for Māori – Fixed Term or Secondment until September 2027

Te Haeata/The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Outcomes for Māori team within Te Tirohanga Māori, on secondment or fixed term until September 2027. We are looking for an amazing Advisor to join Te Tirohanga Māori within Ātea a Rangi - Strategy.

This is an opportunity to contribute to work that improves outcomes for Māori across the justice system. Working alongside a passionate and committed team, you'll help bring Māori perspectives, insights and aspirations into strategic thinking, advice and initiatives that support positive change.

As an Advisor Outcomes for Māori, you'll support the development of evidence-based advice, analysis and initiatives that strengthen understanding of the drivers of inequity and inform approaches that better meet the needs of Māori and other priority populations.

You'll work collaboratively with colleagues across the Ministry, iwi, Māori organisations, sector partners and communities to gather insights, support programme delivery and contribute to advice that helps shape decision-making. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine analytical thinking, relationship management and an understanding of te ao Māori to support meaningful and lasting change.

If you are passionate about improving outcomes for Māori and want to contribute to work that has an impact at a system level, we would love to hear from you.

  • strong relationship building skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of people and communities;
  • clear communication skills, with the ability to turn information and ideas into practical advice; and
  • curiosity, initiative and a willingness to learn and grow in a supportive environment.

If this role interests you and you believe your passion, skills and experience align, we want to hear from you.
