Job Description

We are looking for our next Manager Organisational Communications! This permanent opportunity comes at an exciting time where change is at top of mind.


The Manager Organisational Communications role needs to coordinate and lead the provision of internal communications services to the Ministry for Primary Industries' and to manage the articulation of MPI's strategy, story and brand to internal and external audiences. The position also leads MPI's internal graphic design and publications team.


This role requires strong working relationships with stakeholders, and across MPI, including with senior leaders. You'll need to be able to build credibility and trust to develop effective relationships within the team and throughout MPI. There is an opportunity to take a fresh look at the way organisational communications services are delivered for MPI.


To succeed in this position, you need:

  • Experience in both operational and strategic external communications
  • Experience in shaping brand and strategy stories
  • Experience working with digital channels
  • Experience in proactive media relations
  • Experience in project, event management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in complex, fast-paced environments
  • Be a self-starter and a creative problem-solver
