Job Description

The MPI's Food and Beverage group offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking for role to introduce positive changes to the way we, and others, do things in the food safety and suitability system.

New Zealand is culturally diverse, and becoming more so. Food businesses come in many shapes and sizes, and we increasingly find that language and cultural differences are making it difficult - both for them to know what they must do, and for us to understand how to best work with them. This role is to focus on finding new and better ways to regulate and influence food safety in our increasingly multicultural communities.

The Adviser/Senior Adviser Community Liaison will work directly with food businesses and community organisations to ensure MPI is developing and implementing food safety and suitability rules and tools that will enable and empower people, from a wide range of different backgrounds and cultures, making and selling food, to embed good food safety behaviours into their business.

We're looking for a great communicator that can interact with and relate to most people they meet. We need someone that can capture people's stories and experiences and use them to identify food safety rules and tools that will work for them. It would be great if you already have experience in food safety and suitability risk management – but this isn't essential to the role.

If this sounds like your dream job we look forward to reviewing your application and CV
