Job Description

At MPI we have a great culture and our commitment to the community is second to none. We have great people and we are determined that they will be safe from the beginning of every work day until the end.

You can play a part in that. MPI has an internal Safety and Wellbeing Group. We are looking for Health & Safety Site Leads to join our operational teams working across the country. There are four fixed term roles available based in either Invercargill, Oamaru, Ashburton or Cambridge throgh until the end of June 2019.

While we are doing really well in the safety space that doesn't mean there is nothing left to be done. We are determined to lead the Sector and demonstrate excellence in this area. All we can promise is hard work but it will be incredibly interesting and there is the opportunity for you to make a sustainable difference.

Purpose

The Health and Safety Site Leads will be responsible for supporting health and safety at a number of field based operations across the country. This may include:

  • Hazardous substance management
  • Contractor management and liaison

Our Ideal Candidate

You will be someone who has energy, passion and ideas. You will have excellent communication skills and a strong ability to carry a discussion and lead engagement. You will be a person of exceptional character who can stand up as a role model to others with pride and confidence that comes from their own mana and a belief in MPI.

You will have a natural ability to solve problems, derive solutions and deliver success. You will need a sense of humour and while taking the role seriously not forget the realities of engagement. You will have tenacity and a personality that doesn't give up or get beaten down.

In addition, you may have experience in the following areas:

  • Health, Safety and Wellbeing
