Solution Architect - Wellington based

We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join the Development and Operations Group here at the Ministry for Primary Industries.  MPI has a modern and legacy set of enterprise platforms and is an advocate for all of government capabilities and technologies which support the growing needs of our business.

 

This role is responsible for developing solution architecture for specific products, collaborating and guiding developers, and reviewing their solution architecture deliverables.  Our solution delivery team has a growing capability in SaaS/Cloud/PaaS, API,  Microservices and Cloud Platforms with need for advice and guidance on solutions.  We're an advocate for Continuous Improvement and Delivery.  DevOps want to achieve automation and are building our Agile and DevOps practices with this in mind. 

 

You'll be collaborating, defining, developing, maintaining, and communicating detailed solution patterns, models, standards and guidelines in relation to solutions architecture. You'll have an understanding of general software architecture principles and development practices.  MPI has a Breadth of technologies balance of technologies, so understanding of integration is essential as is a knowledge of cloud computing.

 

Our Solution Architects are able to guide and direct discussions, document and present technical solutions, and discuss options with our business in terms they understand, having a deep technical knowledge.

 

To be successful in the role you will need to have good interpersonal, strong oral and written communication skills along with great stakeholder relationship management skills.
