We have an exciting role for a Technical Coordinator within the Plant Imports Group, in the Plants & Pathways Directorate.  The Technical Coordinator is focused on facilitating the efforts of the teams as they develop new Import Health Standards (IHSs) and amend and review old IHSs with a particular focus on leading the process of issuing import permits.

In this role you will be required to respond to a diverse range of ad hoc queries. The Ornamental Imports team work in a very dynamic environment with often rapidly changing requirements

Key skills and experience needed:


  • A relevant tertiary qualification in horticultural or plant biological sciences or a related discipline.
  • Experience in administration, personnel and accounting support functions and operating quality systems.
  • Knowledge of and experience in database administration and reporting processes.
  • Relevant technical or professional experience.
  • Experience in gathering, organising, and communicating information.
  • Experience or an ability to produce written technical documents in simple understandable terms.
