Fixed Term Contract until December 2020

About the role

The Mycoplasma .bovis directorate has been operating since July 2018, and we're working on a world class programme.  The environment is dynamic with continual change; to thrive you will enjoy working at pace and have a high attention to detail.  We're passionate about what we do and enjoy working with like-minded colleagues who are making a difference.

Come and join our team where you will provide operational expertise to the programme.  You will assist in the oversight of interpretation of tracing, casing, and surveillance data, including sampling and diagnostic test results to determine a property's status.  You will also help to refine sampling protocols for properties under surveillance, provide technical input and advice to other programme functions, to assist in informing programme priorities.

Skills and Experience

As a skilled professional you will have a Doctorate of Veterinary medicine or equivalent, and a Postgraduate degree that includes training in Veterinary Epidemiology – MSc minimum.  You will be knowledgeable in the areas of animal health, and cattle farming systems and be able to demonstrate experience working in a regulatory environment.  It would be beneficial to have experience working with cattle farmers and a PhD in Veterinary Epidemiology, and membership in the ANZCVS Epidemiology Chapter.

You will also have expertise in the following areas:

  • Critical evaluation of science
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Planning, priority setting, and the meeting of deadlines
  • Customer and Stakeholder engagement

Salary range for this role is negotiable depending on skills and experience.
