About the role

The Mycoplasma bovis directorate has been operating since July 2018, and we're working on a world class programme.  The environment is dynamic with continual change, to thrive you will enjoy working at pace, and have a high attention to detail.  We're passionate about what we do and enjoy working with like-minded colleagues who are making a difference.

Working closely with the Liaison Manager in this role you will be responsible for maintaining communication channels and coordinating queries from stakeholders, industry partners and members of the public. You will foster a mutual understanding between individuals and groups and the M. bovis programme by answering queries and giving accurate, timely and up-to-date information to stakeholders, response partners and members of the public.

Do you have what it takes to be successful in this role?  We'd welcome your application if you can demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to cater your responses appropriate to the situation and audience.
  • The ability to liaise with and influence key stakeholders.
  • An understanding of working with and interpreting data.

 Together with these skills you'll present with high emotional intelligence and empathy, and will understand what it takes to de-escalate demanding situations.

 The Ministry for Primary Industries is helping to seize export opportunities for our primary industries, improve sector productivity, ensure the food we produce is safe, increase sustainable resource use, and protect New Zealand from biological risk.

 Salary and Benefits

Salary range for this role is $55 to $62K dependent on skills and experience.
