Fixed Term to December 2020

About the role - Kōrero  te tūranga 

The Mycoplasma bovis directorate has been operating since July 2018, and we're working on a world first effort to eradicate this disease. The environment is dynamic with continual change, to thrive you will enjoy working at pace, and have a high attention to detail. The Recovery Advisers work directly with affected farmers and the case managers assigned to each farm to understand their farm systems and help plan for managing the disease and managing the farm. Recovery Advisers help avoid animal welfare problems and help the farm plan through the eradication steps if required. Recovery Advisers help ensure that the appropriate operational costs are paid for by the eradication programme. 

This role works closely with all functions in the M. bovis programme, particularly the operations and recovery teams in the regional headquarters. The role needs to be able to understand farm systems and engage directly with farmers. The role also needs an understanding of how to manage the disease, the financial implications, and how to support the welfare of affected farmers, families and their workers.

The salary for this role will be paid commensurate to skills and experience.

Ideally the successful applicant would be based in Invercargill however the ability to travel to fulfil the requirements of the role will be required.
