Kei te tino whai whakaaro ngā tāngata o Aotearoa ki ā rātau mahinga ika me te taiao moana.

Ko tā Te Tini a Tangaroa, he whakahaere i ngā rawa ika kia tino whai hua ai mō ngā tāngata o Aotearoa.

Mā te mahi me mātau ka hoki koe ki te kāinga i runga i te mōhio i whai kiko ō mahi mō te whakahaere o ngā mahi whakahaere i ngā rawa ika o Aotearoa me te taiao moana whānui kia toitū ai.

Now is an exciting time to join Fisheries New Zealand.  We're delivering transformational change that will modernise commercial fishing practices and better support sustainable fisheries. This a 12 month fixed-term/secondment position.

 

About the Role - Kōrero mō te tūranga

The Project Manager Data Transformation is a brand new role that will enable Fisheries New Zealand and its partners to realise the benefits of the growing availability, quality, and diversity of fisheries data and information.  The Project Manager Data Transformation is a change-maker who will lead a project team and deliver innovative data solutions, which will strengthen decision-making practices in our rapidly evolving technical environment. 

 

Skills and Experience - Ngā Pūkenga me ngā Wheako

Your vision and organisational excellence will enable our organisation to proactively address critical strategic risks and deliver against its strategic priorities.  You'll bring a wealth of experience, particularly in project management, data and systems management, and have relevant qualifications in business analysis and process improvement. 

 

We need someone who is well versed in building and maintaining successful relationships.  In this role, you'll get to work with intelligent and passionate people with diverse backgrounds and skill sets across Fisheries New Zealand and MPI, other New Zealand Government agencies, Tangata Whenua, and industry bodies. 

 

About the branch - Mō te peka

Fisheries New Zealand is a new business unit established within the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) to drive a stronger focus on managing New Zealand's valuable fisheries resources, and their place in the wider marine environment.  The Fisheries Science & Information Directorate incorporates Fisheries New Zealand's data management, science and research, and observer services functions.
