The Mycoplasma bovis (M. bovis) Directorate in Biosecurity New Zealand delivers the M. bovis eradication programme. It was established in 2018 and is co-funded, governed and delivered through a Government Industry Agreement (GIA) between MPI and its industry partners - DairyNZ and Beef+Lamb NZ. Working closely with our industry partners, we have a strong focus on delivering the diseaseeradication effort, while reducing the impacts on farmers and their whānau and making sure we take the lessons learned from M. bovis into strengthening New Zealand's biosecurity system.
The Programme Services Group supports the Directorate by delivering functional and technical support across the Directorate in a wide variety of functions. We are the fixers and “go to” people when other groups encounter a problem or a roadblock. We support with responsibility for: Finance, Commercial Management, Programme Support, Project Management, Health, Safety & Wellbeing, Process Improvement and we also have to remain responsive to the changing needs of the business as it shifts.
The Programme Support Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the optimal and effective running of M. bovis by providing business and technical support to the programme including coordination and logistical support for relevant MPI corporate systems and databases.
Reporting directly to the Manager Programme Support you will work as a team to support the manager on programme design and development by:
- supporting the implantation of business systems and processes
- identifying business system and process improvement opportunities
- providing business system and process support
- compiling briefing and communication material for the programme on cross-MPI business system enhancements/ changes and projects
- Support project management programmes of work across the programme to support the Continuous Improvement team and the Project Manager, where required
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally bring the following:
- Experience in departmental support and coordination activities
- Experience in systems reporting, management and records management systems
- Experience in coordinating project related activities, resources and information
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Customer focus
- Time management with the ability to think ahead and plan appropriately
- Interpersonal skills

Salary is between $56k and $88k depending on skills and experience
