Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
The Principal Advisor role was recently established as part of a small, highly capable team, providing support and assistance to the Director-General, the Senior Leadership Team and the wider food and fibre sector in progressing core initiatives and priorities.
The role requires a strong conceptual thinker who takes a pragmatic approach to problem solving and implementation. You will have excellent communication and relationship management skills, and a high drive for results.
The successful candidate will be driving a cross sector work programme in partnership with senior executives, leaders and leadership groups across government, Māori, and the food and fibre sector, profiling and championing Fit for a Better World and influencing collaborative work effort.
The position supports accountable leaders both internally and externally to create momentum and drive the delivery of programme priorities, whilst providing high-level assurance over performance. As such, the position requires a high degree of management and coordination skills.

You will be drawn to the challenge of driving an export-led recovery through the coordination of a sector-wide strategy and work programme. You will bring proven experience in leading and delivering multiple pieces of work or projects whilst navigating a complex stakeholder environment.
