Senior/Policy Analysts – Global Research Alliance

 

 

Role type: Permanent, Full time

 

Location: Wellington

 

Salary range for Policy Analyst: $68,781 to $93,056 depending on skills and experience

Salary range for Senior Policy Analyst: $92,073 to 124,570 depending on skills and experience

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Roles

 

We have two newly created roles in our Global Research Alliance team, in the International Policy directorate. This team hosts the Secretariat of the Global Research Alliance on Global Greenhouse Gases (GRA) leading New Zealand's collaborative international research and capability building efforts on agricultural greenhouse gases. 

 

One role will involve working for the GRA Secretariat and the other working on the GRA Investment programme.

 

 

Mōu - About You


You will bring strong written and critical thinking skills and have the ability to work with ambiguity. Your experience or interest in the primary sectors as well as experience in tackling an issue, researching, developing proposals, reviewing and providing advice will enable you to achieve results.

 

You will have a relevant tertiary science qualification as well as:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills 
  • Ideally a sound knowledge of basic components of New Zealand's international climate change obligations, or strong willingness to upskill.

MPI leads New Zealand's involvement with the Global Research Alliance on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases and supports the GRA objectives to:

  • reduce the emissions intensity of agricultural production systems
  • find more opportunities to increase the potential for soil carbon storage (a process known as sequestration)
