Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
We're looking for two Advisers to join our fun and fast-moving team at the forefront of our Government Services Directorate, working to support the Ministry and the Ministers' offices. The roles will provide you the opportunity to utilise your excellent written and verbal communication to prepare and review responses to Ministerial correspondence, manage the issuing of briefings and other advice to the Minister.
Our Ministerial Advisers also assist in assessing trends and issues and engage with others to seek solutions to continually improve the performance of the Ministry. This is a great development opportunity if you are looking for a new challenge within government.
Mōu - About You
You will bring proven analytical skills and a track record of credibility and strong working relationships with key stakeholders. Working experience in a similar role would be valuable together with sound knowledge of the machinery of government.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Superior communication and writing skills
- Interest in governmental and parliamentary issues
- Sound knowledge of the machinery of government
- The ability to work well under pressure and to tight timeframes with a capacity to multitask effectively
- Creativity and an eagerness to explore and evaluate new operational delivery practices
- Excellent relationship management and networking skills.
