Senior Adviser at Ministry for Primary Industries, Wellington City

Role type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Wellington Central

Salary range: $92,073 - $124,570 depending on skills and experience

 

Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is looking for an experienced Senior Adviser to join our Strategy and Planning team within New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS).

A big picture thinker with a knack for details, you'll help to ensure our strategy and business planning processes are working efficiently. You'll support the development and execution of strategic plans within NZFS, and monitor and report on their progress.

Alongside this, you'll also provide high quality advice to the business on how to successfully deliver strategies, programmes and projects.

We're a small team with big impact, and you'll get the chance to work on exciting projects.

Mōu - About You

You'll likely be working or have worked for a private sector or other Government Departments. You may be an Advisor looking to step up into a Senior role?   

You will have the following experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years working experience in a similar role in the public or private sector
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in the workings of government or in a subject matter area or discipline relevant to the primary sector
  • Excellent planning skills
  • Ability to work across an organisation to achieve desired outcomes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to deliver high quality written materials with an eye for detail
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, developing and implementing digital strategies and improvement initiatives
  • Good analytical skills and ability to use common analytical tools such as Excel proficiently.
