Team Manager Biosecurity Support North at Ministry for Primary Industries, Auckland MPI Centre

Job Title: Team Manager Biosecurity Support North

Role type: Permanent

Location: Auckland

Salary range: $109,626 to $148,318 depending on skills and experience

 

Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role

As the Team Manager, you'll provide leadership and direction to the Biosecurity Support team for the North region. You will directly manage three Team Leaders who are responsible for maintaining oversight of the day-to-day workload and distribution of tasks assigned to the Biosecurity Support team to facilitate a cohesive, people-centric and high performing team environment. Ultimately, you will maintain oversight of the business support functions ensuring these core functions are delivered. A flexible approach is important, as you'll need to adapt and develop as the environment evolves. There is an on-call component to this role, on a rostered basis.

Mōu - About You

Our next Team Manager will need solid experience in facilities management, including the management of technical sites, as well as managing, developing and implementing administrative, financial and personnel systems and processes. You will have well-honed capability with people leadership, relationship management, financial management and operational logistics. A degree in accounting or finance is desired, but not essential.

Mō tō mātou Rōpū - About the Team  

The Biosecurity Support Group, which is under the Southern Regional Commissioner in Biosecurity New Zealand, provides operational and logistical support across Biosecurity New Zealand and wider MPI business units. This includes providing facilities management, reception services, administrative support, and supporting responses as required.

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a New Zealand citizen, who has resided continuously in New Zealand for at least the last five (5) years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five (5) years: either Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
