Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Programme Reporting and Evaluation Analyst to join our Māori Agribusiness directorate which sits within Māori Partnerships and Investment (MP&I). This directorate works with Māori communities to realise cultural, social, environmental, and economic outcomes, by facilitating growth of Māori primary sector assets.
As a Senior Programme Reporting and Evaluation Analyst, you will support the Investment Strategy team by providing expert analysis, reporting and advice. This includes ensuring reporting products are fit for purpose; identifying trends, insights, risks, opportunities, and progress towards delivery; and supporting investment review and evaluation.
As part of this role, you will:
- Coordinate reporting across Māori Partnerships and investment to ensure timely reporting.
- Lead project audits, reviews, and evaluations, including development of terms of reference for the projects.
- Give timely advice and feedback on programme progress to the project leads and regional managers to inform any required adaptation to the programme.
- Identify and manage information requirements of key audiences, agree reporting priorities in conjunction with Manager Investment Strategy, and establish mechanisms and routines to deliver.
- Use broader awareness and expertise to inform and direct programme and investment analysis and reporting advice.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, a solution focussed approach, attention to detail, and a proven ability to forge effective partnerships. You will draw on Māori culture to enrich your work by using tikanga Māori and te reo Māori principals to facilitate engagement processes and to effectively present information to different groups.
You will likely be working, or have worked in a Business Analyst or Monitoring and Reporting focused role which requires strong understanding of investment programme reporting including the ability to identify trends, risks and opportunities. You will be comfortable presenting complex information in a way that can be easily understood by various internal and external audiences.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in analysing and interpreting data and providing advice
- Experience in providing business reporting and governance
- Experience with data analysis tools (PowerBI, advanced Excel skills)
- Experience in market research and evaluation of policy, programmes, and strategies.
- Good project management skills, including experience in leading projects and achieving effective outcomes in situations where there are diverse interests.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration.
- Strong cultural competence, with ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience

This is a Wellington based role reporting to the Manager Investment Strategy and working alongside a nationally based team which includes Specialist Investment Advisers and Programme Coordinators. This newly formed team will provide an opportunity to work with a dedicated group of individuals who are focused on making a positive impact within Māori economic development.
