Senior Aquaculture Analyst at Ministry for Primary Industries, Wellington City

Job title: Senior Aquaculture Analyst

Role type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location:  Wellington

Salary range and band: General Salary Range D: $100,934 to $118,005 depending on skills and experience

 

 

About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga

With the aquaculture sector's plans for growth, now is an exciting time to join Fisheries New Zealand's Aquaculture Settlement Team.

Our team helps to realise iwi aspirations and grow aquaculture by supporting the delivery of the Māori aquaculture settlement. The successful candidate will join us in working across MPI, and with iwi, Te Ohu Kaimoana Settlement Trustee and with other government agencies to deliver the aquaculture settlement and support aquaculture growth across Aotearoa.

Our work focuses on:

  • connecting with iwi to understand their aspirations and deliver settlement obligations
  • providing advice to Ministers to support delivery of the settlement
  • helping iwi to connect with the industry and other government agencies to further their aspirations

 

About You - Mōu

We're looking for someone who is passionate about aquaculture and delivering the Crown's settlement obligations. However, you don't need to meet all the role requirements to apply. Just tell us in your application why you think you would be a good fit for the job. We may also be able to support you through learning and development opportunities.

Some of the attributes you might have include:

-          an understanding of government processes, Treaty obligations, and working with iwi

-          great interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a range of people

-          excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

This roles require a New Zealand national security clearance. To be considered for this role, you must meet the eligibility criteria set out below.

 

CONFIDENTIAL national security clearance

  • You must be a New Zealand citizen,or hold a New Zealand residence‑class visa (including permanent residence).
  • You must have a minimum five (5)‑year background history that can be verified and assessed by the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine your suitability for a CONFIDENTIAL national security clearance.
