Whanganui District Health Board (WDHB) is seeking applications for Public Health Nurse

Permanent, part time – 32 hours per week 
 

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled registered nurse with at least 3 years post-graduation experience to join our Public Health Team.

The role is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating well child and health promotion activities for children, young people and their family/whanau in the Whanganui kura/schools and communities.

You should be able to communicate with a diverse range of people, have the ability to work both autonomously and as a part of a large multi-disciplinary health team.

It is essential that you have enthusiasm for working with a young client group and an understanding of the issues facing young people today. 

Public health nursing experience is preferred, and or primary/community nursing, knowledge of health population strategies and outstanding nursing assessment knowledge and skills.

If you are an authorised vaccinator and hold a certificate in Family Planning and Contraception, you bring with you an added advantage to this role.
