LEAD MRI RADIOLOGIST, PALMERSTON NORTH HOSPITAL at MidCentral District Health Board (Palmerston North), Manawatu / Whanganui

This is an exciting opportunity to be lead of the new MRI service within MidCentral Health's Acute and Elective Specialist Services. Applicants must be eligible for Vocational Registration in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand and have subspecialist training and qualification in MRI.
This position will have ongoing clinical oversite for the MRI service working alongside the Charge MRI Medical Imaging Technologist. You would be expected to support the maintenance of the policies and procedures that are required to ensure the smooth operation of the service.
MidCentral Health is a tertiary centre for Oncology with a varied and interesting mix of pathology. There is a varied range of general radiology services provided which can accommodate a varied workload.
This is a Monday to Friday role with no on call component.
MidCentral District Health Board employs more than 2500 staff at Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and Otaki districts. Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000. In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools.
Situated in the lower half of the North Island of New Zealand, the Manawatu region offers visitors and residents a unique mix of lifestyle by combining rural charm with the convenience of sophisticated living.
